Maha Shivratri

Herath, the most revered festival of Kashmiri Pandits, has been observed collectively (Samoohik Shivratri) by the Kendra every year since 1996, for the social and spiritual integration of the community. A year-by-year record follows.

Param Pujya Sri Hrydyanand Ji Maharaj said Kashmiri Pandits are shining symbols of India's cultural legacy. Scholar Kamlesh Tufchi presented the many aspects of Shivratri; Relief Commissioner Arvind Karvani presided. A calendar dedicated to the Sapt-Rishis was released marking 5100 years of Saptarshi Samvat.

Chief guest Sh. Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary, stressed unity for the community's growth; Swami Yagyadharanand of Ramakrishna Mission was guest of honour. The Prerna-Chitra calendar bearing the portrait of Kalhana Pandit was released.

A large gathering joined the annual Samoohik Shivratri; the 2022-23 calendar and the book 'Tral-in Pulwama Kashmir' were released.
